You know that swordies are supposed to be dueling machines. They excel in 1v1 situations.

Mages are solid at aoe'ing and are really good at TW. Basing balancing off AA isn't a really good strategy.

Mages shine in TW only because of the sa buff in totems, but in any other events they would do 0 to half sd half hp vest person.
