Sadly I do agree with this.

The only communication they have is either ingame (which, hello, I am not on 24/7 so I will miss any updates that will be "bced" there) or none at all.

I can understand that they are asleep but in my opinion they could have several people watching the server status and as soon as it shows offline they can manually turn it on again.
